Potting!

These lovely wild beauties were grown from seed and transplanted to pots for part of a group of potted arrangements designed to hide a bare wall and gravel driveway. I could not be more pleased with their performance!

Close up summer beauty

This beautiful Hosta bloom just needed to be documented!

Lots of digging and planting!

This was a several day project. I had to dig out the front bed to extend it because my husband doesn't like weed eating, so I shortened the time it takes to mow the front with bed edges that can be mowed to achieve a clean finished look. To finish I planted trailing ground cover. The center bed is an old dead tree stump that the previous owner lined with two rows of landscaping stones. I thought they were unattractive and taking up space so I removed them and mulched. I like the look a lot better now. There are Gladiolas and Cannas in the center with Impatiens around the front. In back there are strawberries, a rose bush and lilies. Though these three are past their prime, I still keep the rose bush well pruned as it still continues to bud and bloom, however the flowers dry up much faster in the full sun and heat! The weather has been so hot the past few days that I've been working in my swim suit and tennis shoes. I've had the baby pool filled to dip in with the baby in between work sessions. We've had a great time together!

Hot June afternoon

Even the spent flowers on Cannas are beautiful!
